The Nehaj Fortress, today managed by the Senj City Museum, was built in 1558 under supervision of Captain and General Ivan Lenkovic and Captain Herbart VIII. Auersberg Turjaski. Today it houses the collection of the Senj Uskoks (pirates) and the Senj Coastal Captaincy, as well as two historical exhibitions regarding the church and the town.
