The Risnjak National Park is one of the eight stunningly beautiful national parks in Croatia, covering around 4600 ha, located in the mountainous area of Gorski Kotar. The national park is rich in flora and fauna, with woods, small grasslands, rocks, and a great number of plant species.
Famous is the beautiful source of the River Kupa.
The park was named after a wild animal, the lynx, which is 'ris' in the Croatian language.
