Botanic Gardens Villa Hanbury, was made by the Hanbury family, mid 19th century, and sold to the state by Lady Hanbury in 1960. Today it is managed by the University of Genua.

The ensemble is the result of the work of botanists, agronomists and landscape designers and has gradually been under restoration by the university, since 1987.
