The Museum of Military History is dedicated to the Hungarian military history, from before the 150-year Turkish occupation to the recent past, displaying historical weaponry, uniforms, maps, shells, flags, a coin collection containing about 28,000 items.
The museum also offers an exhibition dedicated to the recollections of Hungarian airmen who left Hungary after WWII, and a special section displaying important facts about the 1956 Revolution.
The imposing building of the MoD Military History Institute and Museum is located in the north-western corner of Buda Castle.
