The Homewood is a jewel in Modernist design, created by architect Patrick Gwynne for his family (parents, sister and himself) and completed in 1938. The house is surrounded by a woodland garden
.Patrick Gwynne was inspired for his design by Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Tugendhat House.
