Berrington Hall

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Berrington Hall is an elegant Georgian mansion, surrounded by park and gardens, designed by the famous Lancelot  'Capability' Brown’. It was his last commission. The house was designed by the renowned Henry Holland, his son-in-law.

Built in 1778-81 for the son of the 3rd Earl of Oxford, it has been the home of the Harley, Rodney and Cawley families, until 1957, when the 3rd Lord Cawley transferred it to the Treasury, which passed in on to the National Trust.

The interiors include Biaggio Rebecca ceilings, the Elmar Digby furniture collection, beautiful paintings, and the Charles Paget Wade costume collection.
