Dorothy Clive Garden
Gardens & Parks
Dorothy Clive Garden was created in 1940 by Colonel Harry Clive in order to provide his wife Dorothy with 'a series of interesting walks', in order to support her in her battle against Parkinson's disease.
After her death two years later, he continued however to improve the garden, with special attention to his Quarry Garden, covering 0.8 ha (2 acres).
Today the woodland garden is managed by The Willoughbridge Garden Trust, a trust already created by the Colonel in 1958, whereas the garden has been enlarged and improved, covering almost 5 ha (12 acres).
