Holehird Gardens, covering 4 ha (10 acres), is the home of the Lakeland Horticultural Society. Holehird was built as a private country house in the 1860s, but has been given to the County Council by its last private owner Henry Leigh Groves in 1945.
It is now managed by the Holehird Trust. The house run as a home for the disabled, and the gardens are maintained and developed by the horticultural society.
There is a walled garden, Upper Garden, Lower Garden, Glasshouses...
