Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Mottistone Manor, in the hands of the National Trust, dates from the 15th or early 16th century, with additions in the 16th and 17th century. In the 1920s it was completely remodelled for John Seely, Lord Mottison  (1899–1963), by the architects Seely and Paget.

It is surrounded by a magnificent garden with a Mediterranean-style planting scheme.

Only the gardens are open to the public.
