The Museum of Applied Arts - Nagytétény Palace, is a branch of the Museum of Applied Arts, and informs the visitors about the development of European furniture, from Gothic (1450) to Biedermeier styles (1850). In over 24 rooms it displays around 300 items.
The museum has an excellent collection of clocks and watches from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, each piece of which is perfectly functioning.
The Nagytétény Palace or Száraz-Rudnyánszky Palace, was built for Baron József Rudnyánszky and his wife Julianna Száraz between 1743 and 1751, and designed by András Mayerhoffer in his 'Grassalkovich' style. The roofing resembling to a dome, bears the coat-of-arms of the Száraz and Rudnyánszky families.
