Nunnington Hall & Gardens

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Nunnington Hall as we see it today dates mainly from the 17th and 18th century, when it was owned by the Viscounts Preston. The last private owners, Margaret Rutson and her husband, Ronald D'Arcy Fife, also made many alterations and improvements during the 1920s.

She bequeathed in 1952 upon her death Nunnington Hall, a substantial part of f its contents, and its gardens to the National Trust.

The gardens contains an organic walled garden with spring-flowering meadows, peacocks, a tea garden, rose beds and an iris garden.

Inside the house, the visitors can admire the family collection of its last private owners and a changing programme of exclusive and high profile art and photography exhibitions,
