Chippenham Park is a privately owned estate, created the very end of the 17th century by Admiral Lord Russell with permission from William III. It is surrounded by 121 ha (300 acres) parkland and gardens.
The house is in Anglo-Dutch style, whereas the gardens are notable for their vast swathes of snowdrops and aconites in late winter followed by a superb spring show of daffodils, hellebores, spring bulbs and blossoms.
Only the gardens are open to the public, the house being privately inhabited.
Chippenham Park is also a venue for weddings.
