Hutton-in-the-Forest originally a medieval stronghold, has belonged since 1605 to the Fletcher-Vane family, latterly the Barons Inglewood. Today it is inhabited by Richard, the present Lord Inglewood and his wife Cressida.

The House, with its variety of furnishings and the beautiful gardens are open to the public.

The garden is mainly Victorian including terraces, a walled garden, a dovecote, lakes and woodland walks.

There are various events during the summer period, such as the Plant and Food Fair, Open Air Shakespeare, Potfest in the Park and Horse Trials, Classic Car Shows, Wannasee Festivals (music)...
