Marble Hill House
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Marble Hill House was built for the historical Henrietta Howard, mistress of King George II when he was Prince of Wales. It was designed by the architect Roger Morris (1695–1749) in collaboration with Henry Herbert, 9th Earl of Pembroke.
Its beautiful interiors give a good idea of fashionable Georgian life, and also include a fine collection of early Georgian paintings.
The house, today in the hands of Engish Heritage, is currently closed for renovation work, but visitors can still enjoy the beautiful parkland and sports facilities.
