Munstead Wood

Gardens & Parks
Munstead Wood was the home of Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932), the famous landscape architect. The garden was already created around thirteen years before the house, designed by Edwin Landseer Lutyens, was built and completed in 1897.

At that time, Gertrude Jekyll lived in the house next door "The Hut".

The house is privately inhabited, but the garden is open by appointment only Monday to Friday from 9.30 to 3.00 pm (excluding Bank holidays) from 1st March to 30th September.
