Blickling Hall

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Blickling Hall has probably been the birthplace of Anna Boleyn. The property came later, by inheritance, in possession of William Kerr, 8th Marquess of Lothian  (1763 – 27 ). It stayed with the Kerr family, until came into the hands of the National Trust in 1940 on bequest of Philipp Kerr, the 11th Marquess of Lothian.

The house contains the stunning family collection of furniture, paintings, portraits and other artefacts. Its library houses one of the most important collections of manuscripts and books in England.

The 22 ha (55 acres) of formal gardens include the walled kitchen garden, the Parterre, Orangery, Temple, the Lake...

The estate includes 200 ha (500 acres) of woodland, acres 180  ha (450 acres) of parkland and 1,400 ha (3,500 acres) of farmland.
