Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Sheringham Hall and gardens constructed in the 1800s for the Upcher family, was a joint project of the famous landscape designer Humphry Repton and his architect son John Adey Repton.
The last private owner of Sheringham, Thomas Upcher, died without direct heir in 1985, whereas the National Trust bought the estate in the following year.
Today the house is leased out to private tenants and not open, however the gardens are opened to the public.
The garden is renowned for its vast collection of rhododendrons and azaleas.
