Docton Mill Gardens dates probably back to the 10th century. The mill continued to produce flower until 1910. It became a private house in the Mid 1930s, and was also converted to generate electricity, which it still can today.
The new private owners since 1977, made substantial modifications and updates within the mill, whereas the gardens were extended with new woodlands, herbaceous border, stream gardens and a green house. The creative work never ends.
