Theobalds Park, Cedars Park, covering 19 acres, was the site of the former Theobalds Palace, a favoured residence of James I and where Charles I spent much time during his boyhood.

Before it bacame a Royal residence, it was the residence of the Cecil family, who moved thereafter to Hatfield House. (see also: https://www.tripendy.com/location/hatfield-house)

Hatfield was given to the Borough of Waltham Cross in 1919 and has many features, such as woodland walks, formal gardens, a play maze, ponds, play trail, Cedars Nature Centre, an arboretum and a conservation area...
